In the space of a year, the air carrier Fly ZeJet has established itself in a very competitive sector, by offering high-end services.
FlyZeJet, the airline headed by Cameroonian Christophe Semengue seems to have made its mark both in the Cameroonian and African skies. After one year of activity, the transporter achieved a turnover of 1.2 billion CFA francs according to company data consulted by EcoMatin. This is thanks to the growing number of passengers transported on demand.
After obtaining its license in 2022, the airline quickly took off, offering regular flights between Cameroon's main cities and international destinations. Thanks to its fleet composed of three Brazilian-made Embraer ERJ 145 regional jet aircraft with a capacity of 50 seats, the company declares having carried out over the period from April 25, 2022 to March 31, 2024, a total of 833 flights, covering more than 20 countries and serving 39 different airports. During the period under review, the private Cameroonian company successfully transported a total of 15,254 passengers. The cumulative flights represented a total duration of 588 hours and more than 225,639 kilograms of cargo were handled.
Internationally, Fly ZeJet has set its sights on all six CEMAC countries, and is extending its activities to other countries in Central Africa such as DR Congo and Sao Tome and Principe. In West Africa, the company claims to have served several Nigerian, Ivorian, Burkinabe and Ghanaian cities since the start of its activities, which have also taken it to certain countries in southern Africa (Namibia and Botswana), East (Burundi) and even Europe (France). On domestic flights, this new company, which operates flights at the request of customers, challenges the public carrier Camair Co on southern lines such as Douala, Yaoundé and Bafoussam, and on northern lines such as Garoua, Maroua and Ngaoundéré.
Created in 2021, it will not be until October 12, 2022 that the Cameroon Aeronautical Authority will announce to the Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (Asecna), the issuance of a carrier license air to the company Fly ZeJet. This company thus received clearance from the State of Cameroon to operate in all segments of air transport, which are regular or on-demand passenger transport, freight and messaging, both on the domestic and international market.
